April 16, 2009
To My Sisters :’)
March 12, 2009It is not miraculous to create a 1000 friends in one year…It is miraculous to create one friend who will last for a 1000 years
To all of my sisters in Islam whom I have come to know, I love you all for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala!…
Especially you, daughter of pearls…
Please listen till the very end…(especially you, daughter of pearls!)…
My soul mate I remember your kindness and send you praise.
These are moments of gratitude for you..
for endless times you have held my back when I was down.
and supported me in life matters as well in religion.
be hold the faithful mate to gain the guidance
for who walks in the garden smells the fragrance of jasmine
one is known by whom he chooses
I chose you and become a better person
an eternal steam of faithfulness you are
and I still praise Allah for such a true mate
I recently heard this nasheed on this blog and I loved it.
The translation of it, for those who usually ask
is on the blog so please check it out!
To listen to the nasheed:
Song for Gaza – Michael Heart
January 13, 2009*disclaimer: has music*
WE WILL NOT GO DOWN (Song for Gaza)
(Composed by Michael Heart)
Copyright 2009
A blinding flash of white light
Lit up the sky over Gaza tonight
People running for cover
Not knowing whether they’re dead or alive
They came with their tanks and their planes
With ravaging fiery flames
And nothing remains
Just a voice rising up in the smoky haze
We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die
We will not go down
In Gaza tonight
Women and children alike
Murdered and massacred night after night
While the so-called leaders of countries afar
Debated on who’s wrong or right
But their powerless words were in vain
And the bombs fell down like acid rain
But through the tears and the blood and the pain
You can still hear that voice through the smoky haze
We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die
We will not go down
In Gaza tonight
Stop! Rewind…
November 17, 2008I’ve been meaning to write for a long time, but everytime I try, all the thoughts rush out all at once and I am left trying to make sense of loose ends…
And then I found it.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree..
November 5, 2008I remember first listening to Yusuf Islam and falling in love with so many of his simple songs/nasheeds (whatever you wanna call them)..
Yoriyos (Muhammad Islam) is the son of Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens). His first album, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, was released earlier this year.
The Lyrics to one of the songs in the album, “La Ilaha Illa Allah”:
Many dreams we share my brothers
Many tears we dare not share
The sand of our lives goes quickly blowing
To the heavens with our prayers
From the sea of time we travel
Each and every one who lives
May my journey end in grievin’
The shores in which my brothers rest
La ilaha illa Allah
Every day and every night
La ilaha illa Allah
To paradise these words take flight
More than sea can ease and riches
More than wanting is to give
We’re each a child to each other
So treat and teach your children well
From the mountains soon to crumble
From the skies so full of pain
The oceans to the stars they wonder
Why we find it hard to say
La ilaha illa Allah
Every day and every night
La ilaha illa Allah
To paradise these words take flight
La ilaha illa Allah
Every day and every night
To paradise these words take flight
*Note: if you youtube or google it, I believe it does have music, hence, I only posted the lyrics, which I thought were beautiful*
