The Strong. And the not-so-strong.

If there is one thing I learned, it’s that there are two types of people. Those who are strong, and those who aren’t. Now this rambling isn’t fact or anything…In fact, I’m doing just that, “rambling”…

You see, I’ve noticed that the not-so-strong people sometimes feed on the strength of those who have it. They like to be around those who show strength. They befriend them until they become their source of strength. And this way, they end up feeling strong themselves. They seek the strength…they satisfy their need…

Or, there’s the second approach.  If they do not befriend those who are stronger than them, they resort to becoming rebels and distinguished memebers of society, somehow, anyhow…so long as they are noticed…Also satisfying their need for strength by being noticed…

Now the question is, where do the strong get their strength from?

to be continued…after midterms…

You are right. Many, many times those who are not strong feed off those who are strong-which I think is dangerous because more often than not it is a sinking ship situation.. The strong person is that mighty ship over the sea, but when a leach leaches on, it can slowly sink that ship.

Sometimes the consequences are less dramatic, where it is creature+stairs situation, where the less strong person steps all over the strong stairs to become strong rather than being a parallel set of stairs on its own. The stairs only gets dirty, but the creature’s strength is superficial: one push and they tumble back down the stairs to square one.

Where do the strong get their strength?
    1. If it is a strong Mu’men (believer) than Allah subhanahu wa taala is his strength. Like your other post, he knows us by name. He has 99 names and attriubutes that cannot leave us but in awe, and anyone who reflects upon his names and attributes will feel strength. This strength never dissolves because its source is from the Eternal who never sleeps or rests. To be this type of strong you need reliance on Allah and humbleness….

2.If it is a strong person of the Dunya, the strength is more superfecial, because whatever the source is it is finite and mortal. IF it is because of the support of his Parents, they are mortal. If it is because of his own success and strength in life, well, his own arrogance will come to an end with him. If it is due to wealth, well money is paper and paper burns. If it is health, then one day he shall taste illness if not death. Bacially, even an atom of arrogance is false strength….like helium in a balloon…it flies up,up, up…..but eventually: POP!

Everything in this dunya comes to an end, so watch out for where you put your trust in.
And those who rely, should rely upon Allah.

    Wallahu aalam.

Commenting on getting strength from dunya affairs:

‘Umar said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, “If you were to rely on Allah as He should be relied on, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds. They go out in the morning hungry and return in the evening full.” [at-Tirmidhi]
