Check out this CNN video:

Disgusting.

But hey, I guess this kind of extremism is allowed in this world…

Hmm…let’s see…How and where should I begin to show my opinion on this?!

Eve teasing (Huh?!)

March 27, 2010

I mentioned to a relative the situation of the subways during rush hour. A can of sardines might be a better suited word than subway.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words…Here’s one I found using google images…

Our conversation about the crowded subway led to the obvious: Touching of the other gender accidents.

I noted how they have signs that say something about how, just because you’re on a crowded subway, that doesn’t mean inappropriate touching is allowed. I actually laughed at how sad that sign felt to me when I first saw it. I thought about how the structure of a more halal subway would be. LOL.

Anyways, I can’t remember where, but I found this picture and saved it:

It’s a WOMEN ONLY cart during certain hours. SubhanaAllah. Some countries are just so ahead.

And believe it or not, there’s a Wiki about it too!

But then again, mention that here and your head will probably be bitten off by the feminists. When in fact, it should be the opposite…The feminists should be asking for this in my opinion. It’s an honor to be protected 🙂

So, what’s Eve Teasing you ask? Why not ask Wiki? It seems to be getting more knowledgeable these days! Check it out here

It should be an honor to follow the commands of God.

That’s my ramble for today 🙂

Tell Them…

March 24, 2010

How many times have you opened up the Quraan in search of something, not quite sure what, just an unease in the heart usually…and just found your answer right there…Whatever page you turn to, you’ll find an answer to something…

Surat Al-Hijr, verse 49: Announce, (O Muhammad) unto My slaves that verily I am the Forgiving, the Merciful

SubhanaAllah, this verse is just so powerful…The verses before it, the location of it, the verses after it…it all adds to the effect. The Quraan is just a beauty. A wonder. An amazing and astonishing revelation. It’s a miracle. It really is.

The thing is though, the first word in the verse, Nabbi’ نبئ is just SO powerful. It’s not just…”tell them”…it has a lot of other understood meanings with it. A Naba’ نبأ in Arabic is something huge. Kind of like, The News! Like…”You didn’t know?!!” kind of news.. Or, “Did you hear?” …And because it is in an order to the Prophet peace be upon him to tell us that, to announce to us that piece of news, that GREAT news…it just adds to the power of the verse in a magical sort of way. A miraculous way. This verse is especially powerful because it comes after the description of satan, hellfire, and heaven. …So after you have been told about how satan didn’t bow down to Adam when he was created, you’re then told about how he asks to lead people astray…and that kind of sets off your mind thinking how it’s so true, how he really has been leading man astray all along in infinite ways….Then a mention of hellfire comes. And what a perfect position for it to be mentioned. After that, a mention of heaven…You start to feel at ease, making duaa you’re amongst those lucky ones…Then, the news is announced. God orders prophet Muhammad peace be upon him to announce to us, to let us know, that He is THE Forgiving, THE Merciful. And that clears the way for you. Kind of makes you think: “You want heaven? This is the way”. It shows you the way and provides you with the assurance and motivation and focus that is needed to attain Allah’s forgiveness and mercy.

Here’s a translation of some of the verses:

26. We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape;
27. And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind.
28. Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: “I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape;
29. “When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him.”
30. So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together:
31. Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves.
32. (Allah) said: “O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?”
33. (Iblis) said: “I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape.”
34. (Allah) said: “Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed.
35. “And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment.”
36. (Iblis) said: “O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised.”
37. (Allah) said: “Respite is granted thee
38. “Till the Day of the Time appointed.”
39. (Iblis) said: “O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I willput them all in the wrong,-
40. “Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace).”
41. (Allah) said: “This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me.
42. “For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee.”
43. And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all!
44. To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned.
45. The righteous (will be) amid gardens and fountains (of clear-flowing water).
46. (Their greeting will be): “Enter ye here in peace and security.”
47. And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (ofdignity).
48. There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave.
49. Tell My servants that I am indeed the Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful;
50. And that My Penalty will be indeed the most grievous Penalty.

Whispers of the Night

I pounded on the door of mercy as the world slept
And humbling myself before my Creator I wept

Hands raised high and head bowed I knelt
And dejectedly began to lament what I felt

With a torn heart I gave a tongue to my woes and fears
And in great anguish and sorrow I let flow my tears

With poignant emotions raging in me so fierce
I hoped that my prayers would the heavens pierce

Oh Maker of my destiny, Master of my fate I cried
Thou art the only refuge and succour for one so tried

‘Tis before Thee alone that I bemoan
Sufferings of mine only to Thee known

Pains and torments that I can no longer bear
Hopes and wishes I can entrust only to Thy care

For ‘Tis only the ocean of Thine infinite bounty that sustains all
And only Thy forgiveness that restores those that fall

‘Tis to Thee alone Oh Benevolent that I extend my hands in plea
To whom besides Thee can this wretched soul flee

Forgive my sins and grant me my desires Oh Almighty
Reject me not, for nothing can redeem me save Thy mercy
