I AM JEALOUS

Yes, I’m jealous. I’m jealous of the tree across the street. I’m jealous of the rock I kicked as I walked to my class. I’m jealous of the water I drank and of the river that divides Windsor and Detroit. I am jealous of the wind that blew in my face as I shivered my way to the car. I am jealous of the bright sun. I am jealous of the beautiful moon..

I am jealous of the creation that obeys Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala..

I am jealous of the sin-less..

Sometimes I wish I had a simple life….just like a rock or a tree….

Couldn’t help but remember this ayah:

    إِنَّا عَرَضْنَا الْأَمَانَةَ عَلَى السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالْجِبَالِ فَأَبَيْنَ أَنْ يَحْمِلْنَهَا وَأَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَا وَحَمَلَهَا الْإِنْسَانُ ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًا

🙂 I was thinking of that the whole time too..
The nasheed was stuck in my head all of last week…
I really REALLY wished I was a tree this past week lol..

…which, I think is kind of funny…because the more options we have in life, the tougher it gets, the more mistakes we make, and the more I want to just blindly follow without options…

  4. I wish I were a boulder. Seriously. I’ve given it quite a lot of thought. But, like they say, to err is human. It’s just the way God made us. And that’s why He’s so forgiving, to maintain a sense of balance in our crazy, sin-filled world

Annnd I’m rambling. I’ll shut up now :S

    Sheesh.
btw. I like the way you write. Very touching 🙂

    Assalamualaikum…

SubhanAllah…just a couple of days ago a friend said “sometimes I wish I was just a tree outside the window…or a rock…their life is so simple…”

And although I know exactly what you mean, I don’t think you should be jealous…Unlike the rock, when you worship and believe in Allah subhanahu wa taala, you do it by CHOICE–and that is more commendable then doing it because you are forced to…

You know what it reminds me of?
When our Prophet (salla allahu allayhe wa salam) said that he missed his brothers…and the sahaba asked: aren’t we your brothers? and he said no, you are my friends, my brothers come after me and have not seen me but believe in me…..It is like when you meet the Prophet sallah allahu allayhe wa salam you are more compelled to believe in his Prophethood-but we actually get the much closer status inshAllah because it was more because we chose to do it and it took stronger faith… I know this seems unrelated, but it just shows you that things are not always as they seem. We would think that those who were with the Prophet salla allahu allayhe wa salam would be closer, the same we think that nature around us who are always in worship are better…..but you never know…

And although I also wish I was sinless and pure and innocent, don’t forget that it is part of Allah’s plan that we sin and repent….and that if we were not as we were, he would have replaced us with another people that do sin so that they repent…..
Because repentance is the top top form of Tawheed….
because you admit your mistake, and humble yourself in front of Allah, and submit and ask the only one who can forgive you……

And I am so so so happy you are not a rock….People think I am crazy enough as is, imagine if my best friend was a rock!!!
and no offense to rocks and trees, but I don’t think their advice and inspiration is as superb as yours…..
    ❤ ❤ ❤

Allah subhanahu wa taala wanted you a human, so be the best human, the best mu’men you can be….

    Wallahu aalam

….and I just listened to this song and realized it said the same thing as me….
That he chooses to be a Muslim and there is nothing else he would rather be….
I guess we are on the same page then 🙂

Ooooh I just love what Daughter of Pearls wrote!

Her words,”we think that nature around us who are always in worship are better” reminds me of how we are the best of creations:
    QaalAllahu tabaarak wa ta’ala:
لقد خلقنا الانسان في احسن تقويم
[95:4] We created man in the best design.

And as she reminds me of how much closer we get to Allahu Subhaanahu wa ta’ala, I instantly thought of:
Qaala Rasoolullahi sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam (aw kama qaal):
كل بني آدم خطاء وخير الخطائين التوابون
Every son of Aadam is a sinner and the best of sinners are the repenters.-rawahu Tirmidhi

And as I looked up this hadeeth from my book, I stumbled upon this one:
قال رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم (او كما قال):
التائب من الذنب كمن لا ذنب له
The repenter from sins is like he who does not have any sins. -rawaahu Ibn maajah, Tabarani, Al Mu’jam al Kabeer.

I think this is long enough….ought to thank you and Daughter of pearls for giving me the opportunity of going through my hadeeth kitaab in order to find these 🙂 and of course I’m benefitting tremendously from your words and the comments =) Jazaakumullahu Khayran…
